Just for fun...

New occupants get cooking in Julia Child’s former house - The Boston Globe

This is a great little article if you know of Julia Child and/or have seen the recent movie "Julie and Julia." I think it's quite amusing that Julia's home has become a tourist destination and the owners are getting presents left on their fence posts. I also find it funny that the reporter insisted they cook a meal from Julia's cookbook. A cute story and I'm happy they stuck to their vegetarian diet.

Sailboat atop a wedding cake

This was a simple yet beautiful wedding cake topped with a glass sailboat. Underneath was a super moist, melt in your mouth carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! YUM! To add to the sailboat on top were some shells. A nice seaside theme. Good times...

From cookies to cake...

So this time instead of cookies I got to make a MONKEY CAKE!! WOOHOO!! It was still just as cute though. Some tasty gluten free chocolate cake with luscious vanilla buttercream topped with a cute monkey face! Yay for kids birthdays! Anyone else go bananas for monkey cakes??

Farmer's Markets

Well, we enjoy the farmers' market and apparently so do many others. Massachusetts has been booming with them and this article confirms it. We think it's great that so many people are buying locally and directly from their farmers. The fruits and veggies always taste so good when they are picked the morning you buy them and possibly eat them! So delicious! Keep it up buyers! It's a wonderful thing.

Ok. So we're not a farmer per se. But we use the local farms to provide our produce including our eggs and we are a local producer. The market has been a great way to reach our customers directly and see the happiness our food brings to the community.

Cute cake!

A 2 year old boy who likes trains got to have this special cake for his birthday...gluten free, dairy free, soy free and no nuts which isn't a problem since we don't have any in the facility. We had fun making this and hopefully the birthday boy enjoyed eating it!

Celiac Disease

So I really liked this article. There is a surge in the diagnosis of people with celiac disease and it is completely unexplained. Scientists and doctors can't figure out why it is becoming much more common?!?!?! What are we doing to our environment and how has our food changed and is that a factor is making the disease more common???? If you're interested in reading it, check it out here.

Lego bride and groom!

This was such a cute topper made by the groom or should I say put together by the groom. Inside the cake was vanilla with vanilla frosting and fresh peaches. I loved the simple wildflowers and sunflowers. It was simple, cute and really matched the beautiful location. Hope it was enjoyed by all!
